14-15 September: Hex Gardens – Festival of Rare Plants & Roses

Every year, on the second weekend of September the gardens of the Hex castle are open to the public. Located in the village of Hex in the southern Limburg, midway between Liege and Maastricht, the park surrounding the castle is one of the first landscaped parks on the continent, clearly inspired by teh English landscaper 'Capability' Brown.  Created around 1770, the park has survived almost untouched to this day.

Specialized nurseries in ancient and botanical roses, as well as collectors and breeders of rare plants present their best products.

At the same time the public can attend exhibitions, demonstrations and lectures by professionals from Belgium and abroad.  You will find a detailed programme on the Hex website .

Entrance8€ – free for children under 16.
